EAST MEETS WEST 🗞️

Live Shopping isn’t new: for years, it’s been an e-Commerce mainstay in Eastern countries, mainly China. Here’s what’s hot off the presses there, and as decoded by Livescale’s own experts, what it means for you.

The Headline
The man-made sales carnival: Meet Kuaishou 618 e-Commerce festival month

The Details

Like Black Friday, there are of course many man-made sales festivals in China, harnessing the power of a customer’s willingness to buy. But how, of course, are they doing it?

What is the role that Live Shopping plays in this rapid adoption? In platforms like Tmall, Pinduoduo or JD.com, the buying “mood” is set up to 3 weeks ahead. When the main dish is out on D-Day, the stage is set: people cannot wait to buy.

The Takeaway

✏️Build the hype, and transform all interested traffic into “ready-to-buy” viewers BEFORE the D-day

✏️Target different buyer personalities at different stages of the promotion strategy

✏️The excitement of pre-order discounts, cashback benefits or GWP are available 3 weeks before the D-day

✏️Leverage your brand’s main discounts with a big push using Live Shopping on D-day

✏️Employ a “traffic booster,” like a well-known celebrity, to drive traffic with a guest appearance

✏️Use KOS (Key Opinion Sellers) to turn live viewers to customers on D-day
